Delete your Ekko account
Ekko is made by Zodos Tech Limited. You can delete your Ekko account and its data at any time, from the app or from this page.
Without the app
Enter the email address on your account. We’ll email it a link; open it and confirm, and the account is deleted. The link works for one hour.
In the app
- Open Ekko and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Enter your password to confirm.
What we delete
- Straight away: your account, profile, username, email address, date of birth, settings, the ekkos and replies you received, your links and your push notification tokens.
- Within 30 days: stored files, such as voice recordings, reply videos and images, and your profile photo.
- Within 30 days: copies in our backups, as they are overwritten.
What we keep, and for how long
- An ekko under an open report is kept, without your profile, until the report is resolved.
- Content we must preserve as evidence, such as content sexualising minors, is kept for as long as the law requires.
- Records of reports and review decisions, which don’t include your profile, are kept for up to three years for safety and accountability.
Sent ekkos without an account?
Senders don’t have accounts, so there’s nothing to delete here. To ask about information we hold about ekkos you sent, email hey@ekko.onl.
